RFPA COVERAGE

Over the years we have had a tremendous response from our unique quality presentations of our events, that the media coverage has been phenomenal. When we had Chance cloned at Texas A & M in 1999, this was unique in several ways: First, Chance was the oldest donor ever cloned, Texas A&M’s first clone, he was the first steer cloned, and he was also the first privately owned clone. Below are just a few of the articles that have been written about our animals and events. If you happen to run across one that is not listed, we would appreciate it if you would please contact us.

As television cameras rolled and onlookers craned their necks, a team of scientists showed off the newest clones at A&M, which had already produced two bulls through cloning. The bulls were also on display. Animals cloned by A&M researchers gather for a group picture at the Large Animal Clinic. From left: 86 Squared, an Angus bull; one of the piglets; Second Addition, a Boer goat; and Second Chance, a Brahmanbull.

Texas A&M first university to successfully clone three species...In 1999, A&M researchers cloned a calf named Second Chance using cells from a deceased 21-year-old Brahman bull. They heralded the successful project as a breakthrough in herd fertility, saying cloning could one day help ranchers reproduce their best cattle.
